First step

Today we finally took the first step and left East Palo Alto for good for now. The car was packed and we started driving up North 880 past Oakland, crossing to I-5 via 205 heading for Redding. In Redding we took CA299 towards Burney where we had dinner on the parking lot of our motel. We admired the stellar American car manufacturing skills while enjoying pasta for dinner. Tomorrow, we will head further North towards Lava Beds NM.

Good bye Golden Gate bridge

Today, Kathrin and I went to Stinson Beach for a short hike. While at the beach it was foggy and cool. On the drive back we had a quick stop at the Golden Gate bridge. Luckily, it was sunny by the time we arrived. We got some really nice views from up there. On the way back through San Francisco we had dinner with Manuel at a German restaurant, the Suppenküche. They served ‘real’ Sauerbraten and Dunkelbier from Reutberg. Delicious!

Hitting powder on Tamarak

Last weekend Kathrin, Debora and I went skiing at North Lake Tahoe. We did laps on Tamarak and also skied Tamarak peak itself. The weather was a bit stormy with some gusts. It finally felt like winter! the picture is Alexis skiing the hour glass on Tamarak. It was some fun skiing with no hitting of rocks. First time this season!

New server and new hoast

OK, after not posting anything for a year I had to move this blog to a new host because the old one stopped its service. Anyways, the blog was moved and apart from the Argentinian trip pictures everything should be working. I eventually will upload the pictures from the trip to Argentina as well. At one point in the future…. For now I am leaving the office and heading home to pack for the trip to Alaska. Skiing!

New server!

Well, it has been a long time since I last posted anything here. Partially, because I was busy travelling, skiing, moving, working, what so ever. Additionally, I also had to move the server. It was actually less painful that expected. It just took me a long time to start moving. Anyways, the page is now at it’s new server home and I am trying to slowly update all the links and entries. Let’s see how long it will take…
