Today we finally took the first step and left East Palo Alto for good for now. The car was packed and we started driving up North 880 past Oakland, crossing to I-5 via 205 heading for Redding. In Redding we took CA299 towards Burney where we had dinner on the parking lot of our motel. We admired the stellar American car manufacturing skills while enjoying pasta for dinner. Tomorrow, we will head further North towards Lava Beds NM.
